PLATTSBURGH BEACH

As a Montrealer, I often heard of families heading south to Plattsbrugh Beach to spend the day with their toes in the sand. In 2009, I visited Plattsburgh in the wintertime to witness the impacts of the Great Recession on the small industrial town. What I found was a troubling and desolate landscape with hints of pain and poverty.
