WORKERS

This series explores the working environment of dedicated employees as they spend their days in a hot and humid industrial cleaning shop. The industrial washing machines and dryers are very noisy. The temperatures rise. The repetitive sound of the machines reminded me of the film ‘‘Dancer in the Dark’’ by Lars von Trier and I wanted to pay tribute to these workers for their sacrifices and resilience. Located in Montréal, Canada, the rough and industrial esthetic of the shop pushed me to turn my lens towards the humans who evolve in this space.
