This trip marks my first time traveling to Europe with a child. It was also my first time traveling after a long hiatus caused by the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. I packed my 35mm film camera along with several rolls of color and monochrome negative film stock. I longed for adventure and discovery. I craved meaningful encounters, good food, wine and beaches. With a direct flight from Montréal to Bordeaux, we embarked on a series of trains, buses and boats to discover both the french and spanish versions of basqueness.
